Behind the Tees

Hard Times Don’t Last

On May 11th, Lil Durk & J.Cole dropped their song “All My Life.” I listened to the song and thought it was pretty good, I wasn’t crazy for the track, but I knew it’d be a hit. The day after that, May 12th, our home was burglarized for everything we had. I had taken the next few days off, just to be at home.

While cleaning up, “All My Life” came on and at that point the lyrics just had hit different for me. Even more in depth to that the line “Hard TImes Don’t Last, stood out to me. I felt like that meant alot to not only me and Ash, but it could also be transparent to people.

So that’s how that came about, now for the front of the tee, Collyn had mentioned to chrome it out to resemble our anniversary. Last little detail to the tees are the upside down spades on the back of the tee in the brands birth date.

Spades are actually hearts, but when turned upside down the stem goes through the heart, resembling hardship or pain. Those are placed to resemble our rebirth/renewal. It’s also paying homage to when we first started out many years back, I included these upside down spades in several pieces early on.

THAT’S GON’ COST YOU

This tee slogan came from the same situation, but post-break in. Just cleaning up and thinking like, man, I put so much good into this world. I truly believe that we did not deserve that to happen to us. That whoever did that to us truly will get what they deserve from that.

I’m a true believer in “karma.” Karma be spinnin more blocks than the ops and thats facts. So to get hung up on the thought of the whole situation, it’s like a way of me saying like, “ight this ain’t nothin to crazy to let it burn my days away, to lose sleep over. We gon run through this shit and come out the other side stronger than before, and life will charge that individual(s) for what they did.” It’s my way of letting the situation go.

If you’re hip or your not, you know that Wise Mind is an actual mind state. It’s where emotional mind and reasonable mind meet in the middle. To still allow emotion to be there, to be able to still feel, but while acting within reason. So thinking before everything basically.

Just like above, I already explained the front and spades on the back.

Ultimately what I hope you get from this is that even in the simplest designs and/or pieces we still like to make sure there is depth to it. A meaning, some sort of detail that gives more perspective to the piece. Often times in our pieces there are several easter eggs and meanings. We will try our best to explain our drops from here on out! Preciate y’all for giving us your time.
